The first Chinese satellite " Dong Fang Hong No. 1 " was launched on April 24th , 1970 .

东方红一号重173公斤，比其他国家的第一颗人造卫星都要重。

It was notable in that , at 173kg , it was heavier than the first satellites of other countries .

On April 24 , 1970 , " Dongfanghong-I ( Red East 1 )", the country ` s first man-made satellite , was successfully launched .
